Every ball in cricket opens up new possibilities. At bet baji, bet across a wide range of markets — from match winner, toss and top batsman to over/under — with a simple interface, fast odds updates and full support in Bengali.
Three cricket formats and the competitions Bangladeshi fans love
In Bangladesh, cricket is more than a sport — it is passion, celebration, and the topic of conversation everywhere from the local tea stall to offices in Dhaka. bet baji offers betting on three main formats, each with its own markets and different betting approach.
T20: The fastest format. BPL (Bangladesh Premier League) and IPL are played in this format, and when the Tigers play at the T20 World Cup, the whole country comes alive with excitement. Sixes, fours and wickets happen quickly in T20, so live odds change with every ball.
ODI: In this fifty-over format, the pace of the match builds gradually. Separate betting markets stay open for the powerplay, middle overs and death overs. ODI betting picks up especially during tournaments like the ICC Champions Trophy and the World Cup.
Test: This five-day format rewards patience and analysis. Session-by-session runs, top-line wicket counts — Test matches are particularly appealing for focused bettors who prefer longer-running markets.
BPL is Bangladesh's home cricket tournament, where local and overseas players take the field together. IPL is India's franchise league, but it is hugely popular among Bangladeshi fans as well. The level of discussion on Dhaka's streets about the Tigers' performances in international matches is reflected in the betting markets on bet baji too.
Football and other sports betting — what is the difference?
Alongside cricket, you can also bet on football at bet baji. Football offers markets such as match winner, both teams to score and total goals over/under — available across leagues from around the world. European football is also quite popular among Bangladeshi fans.
The big difference between cricket and football is the match structure. In football, a draw is a separate outcome, so the 1X2 market has three possibilities. In limited-overs cricket there is no draw — the result is one of two outcomes. In Test matches a draw is possible, so odds naturally split three ways.
Among other sports, betting markets for kabaddi and volleyball are also available. Before entering any sport's markets, it is important to have a clear understanding of that sport's rules and current form. For responsible betting, it is recommended to read the Responsible Gaming page.
5 popular cricket betting markets with examples
Numerous markets are open for each match. Below, the five most commonly used markets are explained with straightforward examples.
Match Winner
The simplest market — pick which team will win. Place your bet on either Team A or Team B. Example: if you bet on Team A to win and Team A does win, your payout is calculated according to the decimal odds for that match.
Cricket FootballToss Betting
Pick which team will win the toss before the match starts. This is a short-term market — the result is decided within minutes. The toss outcome is entirely random, so the odds for both teams are usually close to each other.
T20 ODITop Batsman
Predict which batsman will score the most runs in a specific innings. Because there are many players in this market, the odds tend to be relatively higher. Knowledge of the team's batting order and current form is useful here.
Individual High OddsTotal Runs Over/Under
Choose whether the total runs in an innings will be over or under a set number. Example: will total runs exceed 160 — pitch conditions and the team's batting strength are important factors here.
T20 ODIMulti Bet (Multiple Selections)
Combine selections from multiple matches into a single bet at the same time. The odds for each selection are multiplied, so a win returns a much larger amount. But if even one selection is wrong, the entire bet is lost. Example: placing bets on three matches at odds of 1.40, 1.70 and 1.90 gives combined odds of 4.52.
Higher Return Higher RiskOver of First Wicket
Bet on which over the first wicket will fall in. On a pace-friendly pitch the first wicket may fall in the first few overs, while on a spin-friendly pitch it may take a little longer. This market is a particular favourite among experienced cricket fans.

Decimal, fractional and American — three odds formats
Betting sites display odds in three formats. All three express the same probability — only the way they are written differs. Below, each format is explained with two worked examples:
Example 1 — Team A wins (stake ৳500)
Decimal 2.25 = Fractional 5/4 = American +125. Total return if you win: ৳1,125 (৳625 profit + ৳500 stake); if you lose, ৳500 is gone. In American format, '+' means that amount of profit per ৳100 staked.
Example 2 — Team B (favourite) wins (stake ৳500)
Decimal 1.25 = Fractional 1/4 = American -400. A ৳500 stake returns ৳625 (৳125 profit). In American format, '-' means how much you need to stake to win ৳100 — here ৳400. The favourite has lower odds, so the return is smaller but the chance of winning is higher.
bet baji generally shows decimal odds as the default, because they are the easiest to calculate — simply multiply the stake by the odds to find the total return.
Multi bet example: odds of 1.40 × 1.70 × 1.90 across three selections = 4.52 (rounded). A ৳100 stake returns ৳452 if all selections are correct — but if any one loses, the entire ৳100 is gone.
Live in-play betting — odds shift the moment a wicket falls
You can place bets even after a match has started — that is live in-play betting. Odds update after every over, every wicket, and even every boundary.
Say Team A is batting and has scored 90 runs in 10 overs with 3 wickets down. In that situation, Team A's odds of winning may be higher or lower than at the start of the match — it depends on the pitch, the overs remaining and the opposition's bowling strength.
When a key wicket falls or several consecutive maiden overs are bowled, the batting team's odds go up. Conversely, a run of sixes brings their odds down. In live betting, being able to read the flow of the match makes it easier to decide at the right moment.
Decisions in live betting must be made quickly because odds can change within seconds. So familiarise yourself with the markets before the match starts and think in advance about which market you will go for in which situation.
When a wicket falls
The batting team's odds go up, the bowling team's go down
In a big over
The batting team's odds drop quickly
Duckworth-Lewis
When the target changes due to rain, the odds are affected too
Final overs
Odds change fastest in the death overs
Practical tips for cricket betting
Betting is a form of entertainment. The tips below are drawn from the experience of seasoned bettors — they are no guarantee of profit, they simply help keep the experience more organised. 21+
Start with one market
The match winner market is simple and straightforward — it is the right starting point for beginners. Entering multiple markets at once makes decisions more complicated.
Check pitch reports and weather
If the pitch favours spin, scoring runs in the second innings can be harder. Pacers get swing under overcast skies. This information is useful in over/under and top batsman markets.
Set your budget in advance
Before each match, decide for yourself how much you will bet. Do not go beyond that limit. Betting is for enjoyment — it is better not to treat it as a source of income.
Be careful with multi bets
Multi bets offer higher returns, but the risk is also higher. Adding more than three or four selections makes it hard to get all of them right. To learn about bet baji VIP benefits, visit the bet baji VIP page.
Keep emotions in check in live betting
When something goes against your favourite team, it is tempting to increase your stake out of emotion. In that situation, making a decision with a clear head is the right approach.
